A diverse group of factors sparked the fire of the Russian Revolution. The Russian people began to question themselves whether or not they could put their trust in the Tsar. Furthermore, as well as the appalling conditions at the front line, some levels of the Russian society were already dissatisfied with the poor conditions back at home. They were being harshly treated and affected by mass food shortages which also showed just how much the Tsar could not cope under such circumstances like the First World War. The following factors will show how they worked together to bring about the fall of the Russian Monarchy.

In this essay I will be looking on 4 factors and whether or not they had help to break the stalemate during the First World War. There are a number of different aspects of the Schlieffen plan, but all were aimed at defeating France as quick as possible, preferable in under 6 weeks. The first aspect of the Schlieffen plan was to reduce risk of war on two fronts. The Chief of General Staff thought it would be possible to defeat France and then turn onto Russia as Russia would take a long to get itself ready for war as it is such a big country. So the Staff wanted a quick and easy victory in France so they could turn their attentions east towards Russia.

I have discovered that World War 1 was a war like no other.
World War 1 is one of the most well known wars, and the war that ultimately changed the meaning of war. However, the purpose of previous wars was to take another country 's land, but this war was different, the purpose of World War 1 became more of which country can kill the most people. On the other hand, with new technologies like machine guns, chemical bombs and trenches, the number of casualties increased and made the war last longer than expected. Also, the idea of going to war and fighting for your country in a heroic manner became a lie to some after WW1. As a result, World War 1 became a time of new technology and advancements, which made WW1 far more different and traumatizing than other wars, yet at the same time, these new technologies and advancements made World War 1 a very senseless war.
