If your CMOS is configured correctly, change the boot order in your BIOS setup so that the floppy drive is either disabled honestly, who uses floppy drives anymore? You need a new CMOS battery.

I installed Windows XP twice on my computer. Now, when I turn on the machine, it goes to a black screen that asks you to click F1 to continue or F2 I think to run the set up. This never happened before. However, the machine is still running slow.

Press F10 and go through the BIOS setup screens and see if there are settings that need to be changed. Also go to the HP site and download the Machine Drivers and Chipset Driver including the latest Bios update and the installation utility. Look on the back panel of your machine.

Were there any recent changes made to the computer prior to the issue? Are you able to boot in Normal mode after getting this prompt? Did you change the boot priority in BIOS?
