More information
The Common Core asks students to read stories and literature, as well as more complex texts that provide facts and background knowledge in areas such as science and social studies. This stresses critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that are required for success in college, career, and life. Because students must learn to read, write, speak, listen, and use language effectively in a variety of content areas, the standards promote the literacy skills and concepts required for college and career readiness in multiple disciplines. States determine how to incorporate these standards into their existing standards for those subjects or adopt them as content area literacy standards. They include critical-thinking skills and the ability to closely and attentively read texts in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature. Students will learn to use cogent reasoning and evidence collection skills that are essential for success in college, career, and life.

Narrative exposition is the insertion of background information within a story or narrative. This information can be about the setting , characters' backstories , prior plot events, historical context, etc. Exposition is one of four rhetorical modes also known as modes of discourse , along with description , persuasion , and narration , as elucidated by Alexander Bain and John Genung. An expository paragraph presents facts, gives directions, defines terms, and so on. It should clearly inform readers about a specific subject. An expository essay is one whose chief aim is to present information or to explain something.

As an English teacher, I have always loved teaching poetry. I used to confine it to one unit every winter as a way to engage students after winter break, but recently shifted to starting my year with poetry. Why wait to get into the good stuff?

This site is incredibly affordable for college students, the writing is actually really good- you would think because you pay a cheap amount that it would indicate (cheap writing?) That was not the case, I submitted tons of papers to these guys and not only did they write amazing, but they often finished my papers before the deadline.
