Charity categoryHealth

Skin of Steel aims to provoke revolutionary change in how people and institutions respond to Melanoma. This type of skin cancer is now the fastest growing cancer worldwide. Skin of Steel has applied for exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code and anticipates government approval in May 2010.

We intend to:

initiate research to foster positive and long lasting change in attitudes, lifestyle, and habits relative to sun safety

maximize opportunities for strategic awareness training and self-skin exams, as well as free skin screenings for a variety of demographics

fast track resources that develop comprehensive care for Melanoma patients in the Midwest, and underserved areas of the country.

instigate collaboration of government, business, and medical research resources toward new Melanoma research lines

encourage the cross utilization of immunotherapies, targeted therapies chemotherapies, and radiotherapies to provide immediate control of melanomas while cures continue to be sought

secure the latest treatments for every patient with melanoma
