This program displays two-dimensional wallpaper-type patterns by using the symmetry operations of the 17 crystallographic spacegroups of the plane. To create a pattern you can use the integrated motif editor for drawing a structural unit, which is then used to build up the pattern by selecting a plane group.

More screenshots and much more information can be found the developer's web-site.

Pay it forward

If you are using this charityware, you may "pay it forward" in the following way:

I herewith introduce/join a concept of software called CAREWARE (November 1996) Basically it is software that you can copy and distribute freely. I only ask that if you like my software and you find it useful for whatever the purpose please do support UNICEF by any kind of donation. This can be done by donating money, buying UNICEF postcards or in some other way.

By creating CAREWARE I pursue three objectives.

  • I have fun writing the software
  • You benefit from the free software and might even find it useful
  • Children all over the world benefit if you decide to help UNICEF
